“Dreams are impartial, spontaneous products of the unconscious psyche, outside the control of the will. They are pure nature; they show us the unvarnished natural truth” Carl Jung
Many people don’t recall their night-time dreams, or remember only fragments or impressions. Others are aware that they have a rich dream life but have no idea how to access the insights that their dreams hold for them. As we bring our attention to our dreams, we start to remember more, and to understand how they communicate with us, from a deeper part of ourselves. By listening to these messages from the unconscious, the dreamer becomes more aware of the underlying currents at play in their life.
I have been working with dreams for over 30 years. My original training was rooted in Jungian psychology and techniques, including dream re-entry and active imagination. My Gestalt psychotherapy training and learning from other traditions have given me a wide range of alternative dreamwork approaches. Our dreams offer us new insights, and ways to become ever more authentic and whole. Dreamwork can be an integral part of ongoing counselling and psychotherapy, for clients who would like this.
I also offer Dreamwork as a standalone offering, in which we book a block of sessions, with dreams as our primary focus. This works best for clients who have previously had therapy. Please let me know if this is something you are interested in.
“Just as it is in nature, every dream has a longing to thrive. Our job is to collaborate with our symbols to discover how to support and fulfil that longing” Toko-Pa Turner
